My Grandma's Coffee Cake
by Julie
I first tasted My Grandma's of New England coffee cakes at a food show in Boston 3 years ago. I was amazed at how fresh and homemade the products tasted. The cinnamon walnut coffee cake was divine. As a special they were selling cakes that day for $10 so I didn't hesitate to take one home and share it with my family.
The next year, when I went back to the show, they had samples of the Ted Williams All-Star Chocolate Coffee Cake. What a mouthful, but the cake was scrumptious. As described by My Grandma's "Pure Dark chocolate morsels are sprinkled with fresh walnuts throughout middle and atop this already luscious rich and moist chocolate batter."
Of course, I brought one of these beauties home. I cut the cake into quarters, wrapped it well and put it in the freezer. When company was coming I would take out a chunk and defrost it and serve it with whipped cream. Everyone thought it was homemade.
You can order cakes online from the website and they offer a variety of flavors including blueberry, golden raspberry and Cape Cod cranberry.
