King Arthur Flour
by Julie

If you've ever tried making your favorite baked goods with different flours, you know that the texture and taste will change, depending on the type of flour used.

One of the dishes from my Albanian heritage, called lakror, is made with layers of dough and butter, filled with one of a variety of fillings, then more layers of dough and butter. Although mom, dad, aunts, and even some uncles made a decent lakror, nobody could top grandma's version. She always used King Arthur flour to make her lakror...except of course when some other brand was on sale at the market, and she couldn't resist a sale!

I could take one look at her Lakror and know she didn't use King Arthur. One bite later I'd look at nana and say "you didn't use King Arthur." She was always amazed that I could figure it out.

I've always baked with King Arthur, unbleached, white flour...even when something else is on sale at the market. I love the texture of foods made with King Arthur. I think crispy crusts come out crispier, if that's even possible!

I have had family move from the East Coast to Florida and every time they come to visit they stock up on King Arthur because it wasn't sold in that area. Well, with the convenience of the web and online ordering, anyone can try the King Arthur products.

The King Arthur website contains more than just white flour. They make a large variety of flours including rice flour, rye flour, organic, whole wheat, French style...the list is enormous.

They also sell baking pans, kitchen tools and equipment, and baking ingredients including yeasts, flavorings, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate and more.
