Pecan Pie

1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
3 eggs
1 cup dark corn syrup
½ cup brown sugar
5 tablespoons butter, melted
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
1 ½ cups chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Beat the eggs in a medium bowl until well blended. Add the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, and vanilla and mix well. Stir in the pecans and pour the filling into the pie crust. Bake for 15 minutes then reduce oven to 350 degrees and bake an additional 20 minutes or until filling is set and crust is brown. Serve warm with whipped cream.
