Chewy Date Pudding

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.

Beat eggs with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until mixture is very thick and lemon colored. Add vanilla, then mix in flour, baking and salt. Stir in dates and walnuts.

Turn into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Serve warm with whipped cream.
