Snickerdoodles
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
Cream butter, shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend all dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture. Roll dough into balls the size of small walnut. Mix together in a small bowl the sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough balls into cinnamon mixture. Bake on at 350 degrees about 8 to 10 minutes until light brown. Remove to racks to cool.
