Orange Spritz Cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened
3 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon grated, fresh orange rind
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablepoon granulated or colored sugar

Heat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl beat the butter and cream cheese until well combined. Add brown sugar and orange peel, beating until light and fluffy. Add flour and salt and mix well. Cover dough and chill at least 2 hours.

Fit cookie press with desired template and fill with dough. Press onto ungreased cookie sheets and sprinkle tops with sugar.

Bake at 375 for 7 to 10 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Cool on sheets for 2 minutes then remove to a rack to cool completely.

Makes about 3 dozen.
