Coconut Fudge Brownies

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk or water
3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped, toasted almonds
1 1/2 cups shredded sweetned coconut

Preheat oven 350°F. In medium bowl cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla and milk. Sift together the flour, cocoa and salt and stir into creamed mixture. Add nuts and coconut and stir until combined.

Turn mixture into 8-inch square pan and bake about 30 minutes until brownies are set but not overbaked. Toothpick inserted in center should show some moist crumb.

Cool brownies in pan, then cut into squares.
