Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups flour
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Combine milk with baking soda and salt and add to creamed mixture. Blend in the flour. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by heaping teaspoon onto cookie sheets that have been greased or lined with foil. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to racks to cool.

Makes approxiamtely 4-5 dozen
