Butter Cookies

2 1/2 c All-purpose flour
1 c Sugar
1 c Butter; softened
1 Egg
1 ts Baking powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons vanilla

In large mixer bowl combine all cookie ingredients. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Cover refrigerate at least 2 hours. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. On lightly floured surface roll out dough, one-third at a time to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with 3-inch cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake for 6 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool completely.
