One Bowl Chocolate Cake

1 cup butter
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Break up butter into small pieces. In a large microwave safe bowl, microwave butter and cocoa until butter is melted. Stir in buttermilk, sugar, flour, soda and salt until well mixed. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Pour into greased 9X13 inch baking pan. Bake for 40 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan.

Serve plain, with whipped cream or frost with your favorite icing.
