Baked Macadamia French Toast
Prepare the night before for a quick breakfast treat.

4 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
One 16-ounce loaf Italian bread, cut into 1-inch slices
2/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
Powdered sugar

Beat together eggs, sugar, nutmeg, milk and vanilla. Place bread slices into 13x9-inch baking pan. Pour egg mixture over bread, let sit 5 minutes then turn slices.. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

Pour melted butter into a 10x15-inch jelly roll size pan and place bread slices in a single layer in pan. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Turn slices, sprinkle with nuts and bake for 10 more minutes.

Serve hot with maple syrup.
