Orange Poppyseed Bread
3 cups flour
2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup poppy seeds
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
Glaze
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Mix together all cake ingredients with electric mixer for 1 to 2 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Lightly grease 2 loaf pans 9x4 or 5 small loaf pans. Fill pans with batter. Bake 45-60 minutes in 350 degree oven.
To make Orange Glaze, mix together 1/4 cup orange juice, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Cool loaves for 3 minutes and top with the orange glaze.
