Cranberry Spice Muffins

2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 3/4 cups chopped, fresh cranberries

Topping:
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in walnuts and set aside.

Combine eggs, milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients and stir just until ingredients are moist but still lumpy. Fold in cranberries.

Fill 12 greased muffin cups with the batter. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over muffins.

Bake at 400 degrees F. for about 20 mintues. Toothpick inserted should come out clean.

Cool in pans 5 minutes, then turn onto rack to cool. .
